Café Zupas opened its second Henderson restaurant May 22 at the corner of Stephanie Street and Sunset Road.
The restaurant prides itself in offering more than 200 signature ingredients that go into their made-to-order sandwiches ($5.29), salads ($7.29 whole, $5.29 half) and soups ($6.29 whole, $4.29 half).
When you walk into the bright restaurant, the large picture menu points out their specialties, which can be ordered individually or as a Try 2 Combo ($8.29). A team of Zupas select from the range of fresh crisp vegetables, meats and cheeses as they prepare your meal with the exact fixings you want.
All of their sandwiches are served cold or hot-pressed on fresh-baked Italian Ciabatta bread and include a variety of signature sauces, ranging from chili lime to 3-cheese artichoke. Their most popular sandwiches include a Honey Bacon Club and the BBQ Pulled Pork.
The salad bar has dozens of options. You can select your own combo or choose from one of their signature salads like the popular BBQ Chicken or Nuts about Berries.
Their soups are made from scratch in the kitchen from fresh produce and spice blends. Of the 10 soups, five are cream based, three are tomato-cream based and two have a lighter broth base. Five are also vegetarian. Any of the soups can be topped with extras like cheese, tortilla strips or sour cream.
The soups and salads are served with a slice of French Baguette, and all meals are served with a chocolate-dipped strawberry. If the strawberry isn’t enough for your sweet tooth, try a crème brûlée, extra-thick brownie or slice of cake. ($2.79-$4.49).
The drink bar ($1.89) offers standard fountain drinks and fresh-brewed sweet and unsweet tea, along with an assortment of imported Italian Soda flavor pumps.
The dining area has a mix of booths and four-tops with a charge bar where you can plug-in your phone or laptop and charge up.
Along with serving up a quick lunch or family dinner, Café Zupas offers catering and sponsors “school night” events where they’ll donate 20 percent of their revenue to local schools. To schedule a school night, visit http://cafezupas.com/school-night/.
