Apple Cider Waffles

These light, fluffy Apple Cider Waffles are full of fall flavors and topped with cinnamon butter and apple cider syrup.

Ingredients

Waffles

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (200 grams)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup apple diced

Apple Cider Syrup

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup maple syrup

Cinnamon Butter

  • 1 stick butter room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch ground cloves

Instructions

  • Pre-heat a waffle iron to medium heat.
  • Place the dry ingredients in a large bowl and whisk together.

  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, apple cider, oil and egg.

  • Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and mix to combine. Fold in the apples.

  • Spray the waffle iron with non-stick spray. Ladle the waffle batter into the waffle iron. Close and cook until golden brown.
  • Serve with cinnamon butter and apple cider syrup.

Apple Cider Syrup

  • Place the cider and syrup in a sauce pot and simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes, until the syrup reduces.

Cinnamon Butter

  • Mix the spices into the butter to combine.
