King’s Hawaiian recently teased me with a post for Hawaiian Ham & Swiss Sliders. They were baked in a pan smothered with butter until the cheese was perfectly melted. The recipe is quick, delicious and easily adaptable.
As I was driving to work dreaming about the sliders, I started thinking of other meat, cheese and butter combinations that I could create. I came up with 4 ideas right away: French Onion Beef Sliders, Hawaiian Caprese Sliders, Turkey Bacon and Ranch Sliders, and Buffalo Sliders.
I just envisioned walking up to the Subway counter and picking different sandwiches that I like.
They all involve deli meat slices and cheese. Then, they’re topped with a stick of melted butter and a complementary seasoning of some kind. The French Onion Beef Sliders use some onion soup mix. The Hawaiian Caprese incorporate Italian dressing and the other two use ranch seasoning and wing sauce respectively.
You can bake 24 in the oven at a time, and all 24 don’t have to be the same. In one pan, I made 12 of the beef and 12 of the caprese, so we had a mix for dinner.
These are great for the Super Bowl or other parties. You can assemble them ahead of time and pop them in the oven when you’re ready to get the party started.
French Onion Beef Sliders
- 24 King’s Hawaiian Honey Wheat Rolls
- 24 slices roast beef
- 10 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 stick ½ cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons onion soup mix
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 13×9 pan with foil, allowing some to overhang, so you can pull the finished sliders out.
- Cut the rolls in half and place the bottoms in the pan.
- Fold a slice of roast beef onto each roll.
- Cover with a single layer of Swiss cheese.
- Combine the melted butter and onion soup mix in a bowl. Pour over the rolls. Cover with foil and let set for 10 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and cook for 5 more minutes.
- Lift the foil out of the pan, and serve warm.
