Hawaiian Roll French Toast with Strawberry Maple Syrup

This recipe uses Hawaiian bread for the ultimate fluffy French toast. Then, we top it all off with strawberry maple syrup for the perfect breakfast.

Ingredients 

  • 1 lb King’s Hawaiian Sweet Round Bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 tbls maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch salt
  • 4 pats butter

Strawberry Maple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions 

  • Slice: Slice the bread into 8 thick pieces. Then, slice each piece in half.
  • Whisk: In the bread tin, whisk together the eggs, milk, 2 tablespoons syrup, cinnamon and salt.
  • Melt: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt 2 pats of butter in the pan.
  • Dip: One at a time, dip the bread slices into the egg batter. Place in the skillet.
  • Cook: Cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove: Remove from pan. Add more butter to the pan and cook the remaining slices.
  • Pour: Place the jam and 1/4 cup syrup in a saucepot. Heat over medium-high heat until the jam is melted. Pour over French toast.

  5. Cook: Cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove: Remove from frying pan. Add more butter to the pan and cook the remaining slices.
  7. Pour: Place the jam and 1/4 cup syrup in a saucepot. Heat over medium-high heat until the jam is melted. Pour over the cooked French toast.
